My Ever Autumn Sky
My lungs have chilled, it's hard to inhale
But it's of no matter, you've my breath
A warm breeze turned frigid gale
As the leaves of summer, so shall I await death
The most vibrant oceans framed in black
They seem to pierce right through me
Aligned the lashes batting back
This killing stare burned indelibly
The static grey of dreams never known
An amber light now cuts through
Waking warmth, though vague, is my own
To rise against the dawning blue
This heart finds pain, yet was once without
Life finds these veins, they were once dried out
Beneath a burning sky
I'm reminded of mortality
Bellow a tired sun
Ever present vulnerabi
Something Like Human by SOMETHINGlikeHUMAN, literature
Literature
Something Like Human
Designed with imperfection
Constructed incomplete, the product of frail conception
An abject and hollow achievement
I am the misguided procession
Of divinity, came a vile blasphemy
Accompanied by a void that's to remain for eternity
A void so perfect prevents me from being as so
I am the infernal effigy
A patient interim, needless temptation
A banquet of treachery
To be served with the poison fruit you bore
Predestined abortion
What I became was by your hand
Without black, white would cease to be
Though far too much, you lent unto me
Hands that bare the markings of shame and scorn
I am the undying agony
Decency sacrificed wit
Buried Under the Influence by SOMETHINGlikeHUMAN, literature
Literature
Buried Under the Influence
We watch with empathy, as gold doth rust
The shame of fading light
We watch with apathy, fall the shards of trust
The lack of will to fight
Contagion siphons down the line
Ingested torment filters throughout time
Day to day, and night by night
Hours hold the validity of fright
Our confused hearts remain in pieces
Hollowed eyes long to wane once more
The grasp we hold is merely our thesis
Unhallowed shells to line the floor
Poison passed as if it was wine
Blight inhaled as if it were fine
Hide within the smoke
For it will fill your lungs
Failed escape, you choke
Speechless, swallowed tongue
We'd cut ourselves to heal
Backwar
Daybreak Calls for Heartache by SOMETHINGlikeHUMAN, literature
Literature
Daybreak Calls for Heartache
Porcelain doll
Standing soft and lonely
Another hand will caress with serrated nails
Cracked skin stretched tight
Poisons within creep through
Await another hand to fracture what the last left untouched
Afflicted with each breath
Tormented by each cold stare
Await another hand to break anything left
Warmth graced your cheek
Now chilled to match sensation
The meekest words wear an already worn heart
Porcelain face, ready to break
Frail angel, already breaking
Discontent aided only by shame
A dead numbness subsides the hurt
Only to be brought crashing back
The impact of their disdain
Hammers away at what remains
Dry the eyes
